Mac2PC Text Translator converts Mac 'TEXT' files to PC text files or UNIX text files, depending on how you set the application preferences. When converting a Mac 'TEXT' file to a PC text file, this utility inserts a line feed character (hex 0x0A) after each carriage return character (hex 0x0D) that is found in the original file. When converting a Mac 'TEXT' file to a UNIX text file, this utility changes each carriage return character (hex 0x0D) to a line feed character (hex 0x0A).
In addition to performing text translation, Mac2PC enables you to change the file type and creator of the new translated file, convert each tab character to a run of spaces, truncate file names to 8 characters, and append a file suffix to the end of file names.
PC2Mac Text Translator converts PC text files or UNIX text files to Mac 'TEXT' files, depending on how you set the application preferences. When converting a PC text file to a Mac 'TEXT' type file, this utility removes each line feed character (hex 0x0A) that is found in the original file. When converting a UNIX text file to a Mac 'TEXT' file, this utility changes each line feed character (hex 0x0A) to a carriage return character (hex 0x0D).

I created these utilities as separate applications because I prefer to have aliases for them located at the bottom of my desktop at all times; thereby freeing me from the hassle of selecting or changing the type of translation that I need to perform at any given time.
Both utilities are "drop-on" applications; meaning that while in the Finder, you simply need to select one or more text files or folders containing text files or volumes containing text files, drag and drop the selected files onto the application icon for either of the two utilities, and the selected files are translated automatically.
Please note that a duplicate file is created for each file you select for translation. The original selected files are NEVER altered.
